| The Schrade Tactical Pen is CNC machined T6061 anodized aluminum. It features a German Hauser Parker ball point pen refill; an American Parker refill will work as well. The cap screws on so it will be secure when you need the pen for self-defense. The pen is 5-11/16 [5.7] inches long. The cap is 5/16 [0.315] inches wide. The weight of the pen is 1-1/2 oz. The pocket clip is removable.
Disclaimer
In order for the self-defense pen, or any other self-defense product, to be effective you must practice using it, including drawing it from your pocket and striking targets. We do not warrant your safety.
As of Jan. 2010 the occasional reports of air travelers suggests that TSA has not prohibited pens such as these, seeing them as pens, not “martial arts weapons,” which are prohibited. It is likely that TSA is aware of them. TSA may change its views at any time, leaving us to cleanup their errors barehanded.

| "The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; ... when the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - Henry St. George Tucker, in Blackstone's 1768 Commentaries on the Laws of England.
"...quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est." [...a sword never kills anybody; it's a tool in the killer's hand.]
(Lucius Annaeus) Seneca "the Younger" (ca. 4 BC-65 AD)
"Si vis pacem, para bellum." [If you wish for peace, prepare for war.]
