This is the traditional jian of China, the straight double edged sword. They have been made in China for the last 2500 years. The jian is one of the four major weapons. The others are the gun (staff), qiang (spear), and the dao (sabre). The jian is called "The Gentleman of Weapons."

This jian has a dragon design on one side of the blade and ancient Chinese characters on the other side. It is a product of the Longquan Jianwang Sword Factory.
