| This makiwara is made of a special wood only found in Okinawa, "Shijiya" . It is a wood of the Japanese beech wood family. It is a Class AA piece of wood with no irregularities or knots.
It is 6' (72") long and 3-1/2" wide. Since 1/3rd of an in-ground makiwara is suppose to go into the ground that leaved the effective height of 4'.
The buyer could be creative and cut it off at 56" or 58" and cut the base to fit their existing floor makiwara hardware.
The Shureido mak was measured to more flexible than the Tomoe mak, making it more suitable to those working their way up in makiwara proficiency.
The price includes a $6.00 handling fee because of length of the makiwara. This is imposed by the carriers. |
