Summary of Federal Regulations
The Federal government forbids citizens from having automatics knives. Apparently this is based on fears generated by watching certain movies in the 1950s. Some exemptions are provided.
15 USC 1242 & 1243 Band switchblades while 1244 (3) provides exemptions of the Armed forces. Section 1244 (4) provides an exemption for for persons having only one arm and for blades of three (3) inches or less.
18 USC 1716 (G) (1-4) Provides exemptions to state government and its political subdivisions.
